Travellers heading to the Dominican Republic should visit a health care provider six weeks prior to their trip says the Public Health Agency of Canada. The Caribbean nation has seen a handful cases of cholera break out in the past few weeks but the Canadian government is not advising tourists to avoid the country.

The U.S. State Department has issued a travel alert advising Americans to be cautious when travelling to Europe. The warning is quite vague saying that "current information suggests that al-Qaeda and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks" and reminds travellers to be alert when using public transit or visiting tourist attractions.

Carry on baggage limits on trips to US New strict baggage rules are now in place for people flying from Canada into the United States. Effective immediately (announced Monday afternoon Dec. 28), U.S. bound passengers are not allowed to bring carry-on bags onto aircraft, with some exceptions.
