Sunwing expands Europe service

Europe bound passengers will have another flight option this summer. Sunwing is expanding its European service with the addition of six routes from Toronto to Europe. Service from Toronto to London's Gatwick airport will run four times weekly while flights to Charles De Gaulle in Paris will go twice a week.

Winter conditions continue to plague Heathrow

London's Heathrow Airport continues to be plagued by delays and cancellations thanks to snow. Winter weather also continues to cause problems for Paris's Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airports, Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport and Frankfurt Airport. Some flights in Brussels have also been affected.

It's a white Christmas over in Europe and its left chaos for travellers trying to get in or out. London Heathrow is open today but is operating a limited schedule according to Travelinfo.ca. The weekend saw thousands of flights cancelled at the airport forcing passengers to camp out in the terminals.

European travel alert no reason to panic

The U.S. State Department has issued a travel alert advising Americans to be cautious when travelling to Europe. The warning is quite vague saying that "current information suggests that al-Qaeda and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks" and reminds travellers to be alert when using public transit or visiting tourist attractions.
