New five-star resorts coming to Cuba

Cuba is going to get more elegant. The island nation will welcome several new five-star properties in the coming year giving travellers even more choice when visiting the tourist hotspot. In Varadero the Ocean Varadero Aqua will open in the summer of 2012, in Santa Maria the new Sirenis Cayo Santa Maria Beach Resort is planned to open on Christmas Eve while in Cayo Coco the new Hotel Memories Flamenco will open in January.

The Oasis Cancun and the Grand Oasis Cancun are raising the standard in resort entertainment. Gracing the stage next year will be several big name acts from hip hop, electronic music and jazz. Pitbull will be one of the artists performing in Cancun in 2012. The party kicks off Jan. 12 with a performance by Kool and the Gang with more than 20 performances to follow over the next four months by artists including Pitbull, Wiz Khalfia and Kelly Rowland.

G Adventures adds North American tours

I've written about Gap Adventures and their awesome tours on here before. Before we go any further though do note that they have changed their name from Gap Adventures to G Adventures and along with a new name they've added new tours. In the past their tours have taken travellers to amazing places like the Amazon or the Himalayas and while they still do that they've added North American tours.

WestJet testing non-stop Vegas flights from Prince George and Hamilton

Las Vegas is calling and now the people of Prince George and Hamilton can answer. WestJet has launched temporary non-stop service from both cities to Las Vegas which will run twice weekly for the next 11 weeks. According to WestJet's John MacLeod the routes are being tested and if they prove to be feasible could be re-intoduced as the WestJet fleet grows.
