Happy Monday everyone. Over the weekend Hurricane Irene caused problems on the east coast and as a result travel to or from the New York City area was disrupted. New York's JFK airport resumed operations this morning but is warning passengers coming through the airport to check the status of their flight as cancellations and delays are still possible.

Air Canada's airport customer service and call centre staff hit the picket line this morning after the Canadian Auto Workers union and the airline failed to come to an agreement. Air Canada continues to remind passengers that flights will go ahead as scheduled. The airline recommends that passengers utilize their self-serve options such as online check-in and if possible to not check bags.

On May 9 Canadian Border Services guards stopped what I guess was a man acting suspicious after he had cleared security at Vancouver International Airport.

London's Heathrow Airport continues to be plagued by delays and cancellations thanks to snow. Winter weather also continues to cause problems for Paris's Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airports, Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport and Frankfurt Airport. Some flights in Brussels have also been affected.
