Airports, Travel News

The last time you left Las Vegas did you find the screener that was giving you a patdown was a little more touchy feely?

Well chances are they were and what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.

Las Vegas’s McCarran International Airport is one of two American airports experimenting with a more thorough patdown procedure.

Instead of screeners using the back of their hands the new patdown procedure allows the screeners to go palm first while searching your person.

The new procedure is also being tested at Boston’s Logan International Airport.

The American Civil Liberties Union is none to pleased though and according to the Associated Press they question whether the new technique is effective enough to justify a “seemingly constant erosion of privacy.”

The Transportation Security Administration says the new procedure will eventually be extended to airports across the United States.
