A cool nomination game of “blog post tag” is going around the internet right now, where travel bloggers are challenging each other to reveal their 3 best kept travel secrets.

We have some friends who live in Cancun and I’ve been a fan of A Canuck in Cancun for awhile. It’s fun to read about happenings at this place on the other side of North America. This is a good post on some hidden adventures to take if your visiting Cancun, traveling from Vancouver or Toronto.
She has some great tips on things to do in the area that are other than just laying on the beach and getting wasted in the bar. Nothing wrong with doing those activities, I’m just saying that sometimes a change and some exploration is worthwhile.
Cancun is a fun place to explore and there’s a lot to see; with the Mexican government making investments all over in infrastructure and road access.

Do take a day trip to XCARET. It is a great experience. Like a “Disney-World” Mexican Style experience only 40 minutes outside of Cancun. Bring along your bathing suit and be prepared to have an amazing day! You have to try the underground river. Don’t worry if you think you wouldn’t like an underground cave experience because you are a bit claustraphobic….It isn’t like that at all….there is a cool meandering river that takes you calmly along this neat pathway. There are lots of open areas above you so you see natural daylight. My husband usually won’t try anything that may be too dark or “closed in” but the guide told us…you won’t feel that way at all. It is certainly true….it was so much fun and a nice change from the hot sun above…
We also enjoyed the night show…all I can say is WOW what an extravaganze…they break down the show into all the different states the costumes, music and dance are amazing! The whole day was a great experience. So many things to see and do all at your own pace. Be sure to check it out!
Sincerely,
Maggie
